1. What is Sync-Sound and Why Does NC-20 Matter?

Sync-sound recording captures dialogue directly on the shooting floor, saving hundreds of studio dubbing hours and preserving natural actor emotion. However, shotgun microphones have high sensitivity across speech frequencies.

A Noise Criteria rating of NC-20 translates to an ambient noise level below 25 dBA across critical octave bands. Achieving this inside an industrial warehouse or film city shed requires complete decoupling from exterior environmental noise.

We construct independent double metal stud walls separated by a 4-inch air cavity. Each face features multi-layer drywall with Green Glue visco-elastic damping and Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV 5 kg/m²), delivering an aggregate STC rating of 60 to 65+.
