Why Standard False Ceilings Fail

A standard Gypsum or POP false ceiling is rigidly screwed into the concrete slab above using steel channels. When the upstairs neighbor drops something, the vibration travels through the concrete slab, down the rigid steel channels, and into the gypsum board, which amplifies the sound into your room.

Adding glasswool above this rigid ceiling only stops airborne echo; it does not break the mechanical path of the impact vibration.

The Solution: Decoupled Acoustic Ceilings

To stop impact noise, you must physically disconnect the false ceiling from the concrete slab. This is achieved using 'Resilient Isolation Clips' or rubber acoustic hangers.

The steel channels are suspended from these rubber isolators, meaning they never touch the concrete directly.
